COVID-19 in B.C.: Ministry of Health reports another 17 deaths, bringing February's total to 131

      Nine more people died in Fraser Health over the past 24 hours due to COVID-19. Another three passed away in Interior Health, three died in Island Health, and two more didn't survive the disease in Vancouver Coastal Health.

      These 17 deaths over a 24-hour period increased the number of COVID-19 fatalities in B.C. to 2,747 since March 2020.

      In the month of February, the Ministry of Health has reported 131 deaths so far from the disease.

      There are 846 British Columbians in hospital with COVID-19, down from 867 on February 10.

      There are 136 in intensive care, down two from the previous day.

      There are 46 health-care facilities with COVID-19 outbreaks. They are both on Vancouver Island (Wexford Creek assisted living in Nanaimo and Sidney Care Home). 

      "The outbreaks at Nanaimo Seniors Village, Cowichan District Hospital, The Gardens at Qualicum Beach, Chartwell Malaspina Care Residence, Echo Village (Island Health), Monashee Mews (Interior Health), The Residence at Clayton Heights, Royal City Manor, and Mountain View Manor (Fraser Health) have been declared over," the Ministry of Health stated.
