TransLink announced today (August 18) that it would be bringing back its PNE Fair dedicated bus to incease service levels during the annual event.

The 16 PNE Special bus will run every 15 minutes from SkyTrain's 29th Avenue Station to Renfrew Station, then from there to the PNE.

It will operate only on days the PNE Fair is open; the fair opens this Saturday (August 20) and runs until September 5 (Labour Day). It will close Mondays, except for the event's last day, Labour Day.

Every Friday, TransLink and the PNE share a promotion whereby the first 5,000 customers receive two-for-one admissions for showing their Compass card.

Fair admissions and ride passes can be purchased in advance by going here. Admission and ride passes are limited and must be purchased for a specific day. Admission tickets will be available at the gates if online tickets for that date are not sold out.

A TransLink double-decker bus will be available to tour during the 2022 PNE Fair.

A TransLink exhibit at the fair will allow visitors to tour a vintage transit bus and a TransLink double-decker bus as well as give them a chance to peruse transit-related job opportunities.

“The PNE is thrilled to welcome back TransLink to the 2022 Fair; we’re encouraging fairgoers to use public transit whenever possible,” PNE president and CEO Shelley Frost said in the TransLink bulletin. “This partnership helps promote transit infrastructure throughout our region and allows guests to learn about TransLink’s exciting future plans.”
