U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham calls for someone in Russia to "step up to the plate" and assassinate Vladimir Putin

Maybe, despite all the Donald Trump bootlicking, defending of Chief Justice Brett “I Like Beer” Kavanaugh, and generally being against anything that would truly make America great again, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham isn’t so bad after all. After all, he’s just called on someone, anyone, in Russia to assassinate Vladimir Putin.

The Russian President is currently upending the world as we know it with his ongoing personal war on Ukraine. Today’s news has included Russian troops shelling a nuclear reactor in Enerhodar and killing dozens of civilians with air strikes in Chernihiv. Ukrainian citizens meanwhile continue to pour across the borders of nearby countries including Poland and Slovakia in an effort to escape the violence.

That’s spurred Graham to suggest that someone needs to kill the man responsible for the carnage.

Guesting on Sean Hannity’s Fox New show Hannity, Graham suggested that the only way to end the Ukraine crisis is for someone in Russia to assassinate Putin.

Then, for the half of America that would entirely understandably rather eat its own shit than watch Fox News, Graham took to Twitter to make his case to the world.

Referencing both the man who stabbed Julius Caesar to death, and the Germain soldier who attempted to kill Adolf Hitler in a failed plot in 1944, Graham Tweeted this:

“Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military?” he asked. “The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out. You would be doing your country-and the world-a great service.”

Then, while it might have been stating the obvious, he followed that up with a second call to action: “The only people who can fix this are the Russian people. Easy to say, hard to do. Unless you want to live in darkness for the rest of your life, be isolated from the rest of the world in abject poverty, and live in darkness you need to step up to the plate.”

As much as it pains us to say this, Graham has not only finally regrown a set of balls that fled his body during the Trump presidency, but he’s right.

Here’s his Tweet, should you be sitting there thinking that there’s no way a sitting politician not named Marjorie Taylor Greene or Lauren Boebert would actually call love to see a fellow politician assassinated.
