Online backlash grows against media coverage of Elon Musk smoking cannabis

      When Elon Musk smoked a joint last week on Joe Rogan's podcast, the images were blasted across TV newscasts around the world.

      Now, some in the social-media sphere are questioning whether the media went a bit too far with its 21st-century version of reefer madness.

      The event occurred in the same week that a couple of senior executives happened to quit Tesla, causing the shares to tumble.

      Some in the media, however, conflated Musk's weed smoking with what happened to the market value of his car company.

      All of this will likely be forgotten within a few months. But for now, this is how some are reacting over Twitter to this whole episode.
