COVID-19 cases reported at two ski resorts in the B.C. Interior serve as reminders to maintain health precautions when heading out to the hit the slopes for skiing or snowboarding.

Interior Health provided an update on the community cluster at Big White in Kelowna.

An additional 11 cases has brought the cumulative total cases to 111 cases since the cluster began (77 cases are among residents at Big White Mountain).

At the moment, 17 cases are active, with 94 individuals having recovered.

Interior Health had announced the cluster on December 15 after 60 cases were confirmed.

In today's statement, Interior Health stated that there are small increases in cases but are connected to other cases and aren’t unexpected.

Previously, Interior Health stated that many cases were linked to group housing, and social events and gatherings.

Meanwhile, some hotel workers at another ski resort in the B.C. Interior have tested positive.

Sun Peaks Grand Hotel announced on December 27 that four workers tested positive for COVID-19.

Sun Peaks ski resort is located northeast of Kamloops.
