Picnix takes the prep work out of picnicking
Want to picnic in Stanley Park with virtually no preparation? Picnix sells the entire experience, including the food and the rental of gear such as a picnic blanket, pillows, and a sun umbrella.
Customers book a date and time (lunch or dinner) through the Picnix website and then pick up the goods, which are packed into a wooden wagon, in the park. The wagon transforms into a table for two and comes with reusable dishes and linens. (You return the whole unit when you’re done.)
The menu incorporates locally sourced meat and produce; choices include antipasto, cheese, and charcuterie platters along with salads and cheesecake.
At $80 for two people, the package costs considerably more than packing your own sammies—but no waxed paper is required.

is this why everyone's in debt?

i miss a good old fashioned picnic, where people made their food from scratch - instead of buying plastic sandwiches and overpriced "charcuterie" aka deli meat all neatly bundled together. im pretty sure previous generations would not budget $40 per person to eat lunch at the park. ok rant over :)
