There’s no denying that we’re a caffeinated city. Whether you’re an affogato aficionado or a latte lover, here are some new coffee shops (plus a bonus option for those who prefer tea!) to try in Vancouver.

      TV Dinner

For a dose of nostalgia, Kitsilano’s TV Dinner is a funky cafe and grocer. Guests are greeted with a stack of old TVs with grainy reception and bright orange-and-brown decor reminiscent of the 1980s. Beyond the classic cafe food and drinks, there are also multiple freezers stocking local brands such as Dicky’s Dumps, Spring Rollies, Kula Foods, and more.

      Address: 1780 West 3rd Avenue

      Mishmish

Fraser Street’s Mishmish is a Lebanese bakery and cafe from the same team behind Superbaba. Alongside coffee, it serves Middle Eastern classics such as labneh, concha, and Jerusalem bagels.

      Address: 3485 Fraser Street

      Estratto Coffee

Sometimes, the best coffee comes from hole-in-the-wall spots. Case in point: Estratto Coffee, a tucked-away cafe in Mount Pleasant. It’s got a small selection of baked goods and truly excellent coffee.

      Address: 260 East 5th Avenue

      Artigiano

While Artigiano is a well-known coffee establishment in the Lower Mainland, its newest Yaletown location is offering something truly unique. Aritigiano Roundhouse is equal parts coffee bar and aperitivo bar, with service switching from caffeinated in the AM to boozy in the PM—making this a true day-to-night venue.

      Address: 126 Davie Street

      Special mention: Chai Wagon

If you’re not a coffee drinker, good news: the city’s favourite tea cart has a permanent home. After starting out as a pop-up cafe on wheels, Chai Wagon has officially opened its first brick-and-mortar location. The new storefront carries authentic Indian chai, which is creamy yet spicy and comes in multiple delicious flavours. The cafe also carries Indian street food, sandwiches, and desserts.

      Address: 196 East 2nd Avenue
