They're two-toned pink with Mary Jane straps and a chunky heel, featuring the words "be kind, be calm, and be safe."

The shoe style's name? The Dr. Henry.

In a case of one icon giving props to another, legendary Vancouver designer John Fluevog has released a limited-edition shoe in honour of B.C.’s now-famous provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry. In the spirit of "We're all in this together", 100 percent of presales will go to support Food Banks B.C.

The new style will join Fluevog's ongoing Operetta Family of designs.

Henry herself is no stranger to the brand, stepping out in Fluevog kicks for several of her appearances, much to the social-media delight of her legions of fans.

Always calm and collected, she's attracted praise throughout the crisis, even spawning a social-media "Bonnie Henry Fan Club", where followers have called her "erudite, truthful, candid", and "an incredible leader and absolute badass".

Early in the pandemic, Calgary-based fashion brands SophieGrace and Madame Premier collaborated on a limited-edition T-shirt emblazoned with a stylized image of the reassuringly measured health official.

Her face also graces a new mural in Gastown as part of a project by local artists and businesses to celebrate the heroes during this crisis.

You'll be able to jump on the presales later this month.
