More policy in light of COVID-19, from Vancity Theatre, the year-round venue for VIFF:

VIFF is dedicated to the health and safety of our audience, volunteers, staff and the communities we serve.

We are vigilantly monitoring COVID-19 developments and looking to the Public Health Agency of Canada, HealthLink BC and BC Centre for Disease Control for guidance and recommendations as we institute new operational practices at the VIFF Centre and Vancity Theatre.

At this time, the Vancity Theatre remains operating with screenings continuing as scheduled.

However, as we work through this unprecedented situation together, we want to assure you that preventative measures have been taken.

Here is what we are doing:

      • We have capped attendance at 50% for all Vancity Theatre screenings until further notice, allowing for greater space between patrons.
      • High-touch surfaces such as handrails, door handles, pin pads and ticket scanners are being cleaned several times a day, including between screenings.
      • Tissues, hand sanitizer and soap are being promptly replenished.
      • Increased signage regarding recommended hygiene practices has been posted.
      • Our staff and volunteers are following official advice and staying home if they feel unwell.

Here is how you can play your part:

      • If you are feeling ill or even ill-at-ease, please stay at home. You will be offered a full refund or an exchange. Email info@viff.org or call our Box Office Helpline (Mon-Fri, 12-5pm) at 604-683-3456.
      • In order to limit physical contact, please hold your smart phone or paper tickets for ticket takers when they are being scanned.
      • Frequently wash your hands for at least 20 seconds using soap and warm water, or use hand sanitzer with 60% alcohol if you’re unable to wash your hands.
      • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth, especially with unwashed hands.
      • Avoid close contact with people who are ill.
      • If you need to cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with your elbow or a tissue.

Our website and social media channels will be updated with any additional preventative measures that are instituted.

We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at the movies.
