Neko Case and Ry Cooder among headliners for the 2018 Vancouver Folk Music Festival

      Critically adored chanteuse (and one-time Vancouverite) Neko Case, Americana legend Ry Cooder, and Nashville heavyweight Rodney Crowell are among the headliners announced for the 2018 edition of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival.

      Notable overseas acts will include Ireland’s Wallis Bird and Mick Flannery, Argentina’s Melingo, Mozambique’s Wazimbo & Banda Kakana, and Australia’s Archie Roach.

      Canadian talent includes stellar Saskatoon roots act Kacy & Clayton, Alberta’s Mariel Buckley, and veteran Ontario singer-songwriter Carole Pope.

      Representing B.C. will be hometown heroes Gordon Grdina’s Haram and Dawn Pemberton, Skye Wallace, Alex Cuba, and Petunia and the Vipers.

      Other big names include Vancouver-spawned icon Art Bergmann, American blues legend Guy Davis, and well-travelled Texas singer-songwriter James McMurty.

      This year’s edition of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival takes place July 13-15 in the event’s long-time home of Jericho Beach Park.
