Indie rock fans, take note: it’s your very last chance to snag tickets to Father John Misty and The Head and the Heart, who are co-headlining the PNE Amphitheatre tonight (August 8). It’s their only Canadian tour date.

Indie rock star Father John Misty—real name Josh Tillman—is known for his harmonious voice that fills the room, and his shows that are both magical and personal. Since his debut in 2004, he’s released 10 studio albums—the most recent being Chloë and The Next 20th Century, which was released last year and designated as one of the best albums of 2022 by TIME, Variety, MOJO, and USA Today. The album draws on big band music, Brazilian bossa nova, and film scores. Father John Misty has worked with the likes of Kid Cudi and actress Aubrey Plaza, and was the drummer for Saxon Shore and Fleet Foxes.

The Head and the Heart rose to prominence through their breakout track, “Honeybee,” which garnered over 153 million streams. The band met through a series of open mic nights in a Seattle pub and have been performing together ever since. They’ve played Lollapalooza and Coachella, performed alongside Death Cab For Cutie and Vampire Weekend, and in 2022 released their latest album, Every Shade of Blue.

Opening the show is Miya Folick, an American singer-songwriter. This year, she released her second album, Roach, which explores her quarter-life crisis. Folick will be coming onstage at 6pm, followed by The Head and the Heart at 6:45pm and Father John Misty at 8:30pm.
