Car elevators are not common in Vancouver.

That’s why future occupants of a proposed commercial building may have something to brag about.

A car elevator is part of the design for the five-storey development at 1394 Robson Street at the corner of Broughton Street.

There will be one level of underground parking, which can be accessed from the lane through a car elevator.

The project will have retail on levels one to three, and offices at levels four and five.

The development is a project of Standard International Group Limited, a subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based Asia Orient Holdings Limited.

The development site used to be the location of the Robstonstrasse Hotel and Suites.

The plan for 1394 Robson Street is scheduled for review by the City of Vancouver’s development permit board on Monday (February 4).
