Nobody injured in West End apartment fire

      Flames were seen shooting out of a third-floor suite this afternoon in the 1300 block of Beach Avenue.

      However, nobody was injured in the West End apartment fire even though the unit suffered severe damage.

      Dozens of Vancouver firefighters quickly contained the blaze by battling it from the inside and the outside.

      The cause is still under investigation, according to Chief Darrell Reid of Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services.
