The third annual Vancouver Mural Festival is getting set to transform the city with more than 30 new murals, plus art openings and much more from August 6 to 11.
The celebrations start Monday (August 6) and run all week, building up to a massive, free street party next Saturday (August 11) in and around Mount Pleasant and Main Street.

The self-confessed introvert is normally ensconced in her studio, working on small watercolours—but this week she’s working in public, painting an 18-metre-long stretch of wall, and she’s loving it.
One of the festival curators says it was important to have First Nations artists reclaiming public spaces because “visual representation has been absent from the landscape for such a long time”.
