Police are seeking witnesses in connection with three alleged assaults near the Vancouver Public Library's central branch.

According to a VPD news release, they all occurred around 8 a.m. on Monday (August 29) morning.

In the first instance, a stranger approached a woman with his penis exposed. She fled by walking into traffic as she called 9-11.

The same woman reported that the man "accosted a second unidentified woman, who fled after the suspect grabbed her leg".

Then he pursued a third woman, who escaped into a nearby office tower.

“The woman who was grabbed by the leg left the area before the police arrived, and investigators would like to speak with her,” Cst. Jason Doucette said in the news release. “There could also be other people who were assaulted in the area who have not yet come forward. Please make a report if you’ve been a victim of crime.”

Witnesses are being encouraged to call the VPD at 604-717-0600.

Andrew Jack Kim, who's in his 50s, has been charged with assault with a weapon and committing an indecent act.

None of the allegations against Kim has been proven in court.
