Check in on your pals who love to be poolside and beachside at the same time, because Kitsilano Pool has just announced that it will remain closed this summer.

The Vancouver Park Board said last year that due to age and weather-related damage, the beloved saltwater pool was leaking—but with off-season repairs, Vancouverites had their fingers crossed for a late summer opening.

Alas, the repairs were not enough to ensure safe operation for the 2024 season, so the popular spot will remain closed throughout the season to address additional concerns. In response, Second Beach Pool will be extending its hours. While there are plenty of other outdoor pools in Vancouver, we’ll still miss this summer staple.
